The forthcoming Electroceramics for End-users VII conference is the next scientific event in the series of conferences dedicated to advances in electroactive, particularly piezoceramic, materials and devices. It will be combined with a professional exhibition.
Following the tradition of these conferences of combining science, networking between academia and industry and enjoying the beautiful mountains, Piezo 2013 conference will take place in Les Arcs, French Alps.
Piezo 2013 will continue its well established traditions of presenting the latest piezoelectric and multifunctional materials, technologies and devices research and development and of bringing together the international community within the field for discussion and networking.
There will be oral sessions, each with an invited keynote presentation. The oral sessions will be accompanied by poster sessions, offering additional opportunity for discussions with the authors and networking.
Tutorials, conducted by international experts are also planned. They will provide unique insights for researchers and those interested in broadening their skills.

Honorary President of PIEZO 2013 conference

Piezo 2013 conference is dedicated to Prof. Marija KOSEC.

Marija Kosec, Piezo Institute Director, Senior Researcher at the
Jozef Stefan Institute (Ljubljana, Slovenia), Head of its Electronic
Ceramic Department and Professor of Materials Science at the
University of Ljubljana passed away on December 23rd 2012.

Our scientific community has lost one its leading members and we
have lost not only a researcher with whom several of us have been
collaborating for very many years but also a friend. Maricka had
an exceptional personality that was unanimously appreciated;
working with her was always a great pleasure both because of
her knowledge and vast experience and because of her kindness
and wonderful sense of humour.

All our thoughts go to her co-workers at JSI and to her family.
